setter Hannah Sedwick has been named the Sports Imports/AVCA National Player of the Week following her 45-assist performance at Texas State, as announced by the organization on Wednesday.<br>
<br>
Sedwick also picked up Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors, as previously announced by the conference office.<br>
<br>
Baylor’s senior setter was electric in the Bears’ only match last week, recording a season-high 45 assists in the three-set sweep over the Bobcats. The Des Moines, Iowa, native spread the ball around as four Bears eclipsed double-digits in kills for the first
time in the Ryan McGuyre era in a three-set match. Sedwick ran the offense to near perfection as Baylor hit .398 and tallied 19 team kills in two of the three sets. She also added three kills and five digs.<br>
<br>
Sedwick becomes Baylor’s fifth AVCA National Player of the Week recipient in program history, the first since Yossiana Pressley earned the title on Sept. 10, 2019.<br>
<br>
This is Sedwick’s fifth career Big 12 weekly honor, third as offensive and first of 2020-21. Baylor leads the Big 12 with nine awards this season between just two of the three weekly categories. Six different Bears have received at least one accolade this season.<br>
