its spring schedule for the resumption of the 2020 season, as announced Monday by sixth-year head coach Ryan McGuyre.

The Bears will compete in 10 non-conference matches against six different opponents. All dates and times are subject to change.

“March will be very busy as we sharpen ourselves in hopes of a good seed and invitation to the NCAA tournament,” said McGuyre. “We have scheduled a very strong non-conference slate against primarily postseason-caliber programs. I’m thankful we get to compete
again and am looking forward to the response of our team.”

BU will play home-and-home series against North Texas, Texas and Texas State, host Oklahoma on back-to-back days and travel for road contests the same weekend at Houston and Rice. The matchups against the Longhorns and Sooners will not count towards the Big
12 standings. UT has already clinched the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament by winning the regular-season title.

Baylor went 13-3 in the league-only fall campaign, finishing second in the Big 12 standings. The Bears collected seven weekly conference awards and senior Yossiana Pressley broke the school record for kills in the rally-scoring era.

To kick off the spring slate, North Texas comes to Waco on Thursday, Feb. 25. The following week, BU will travel south to Austin to face UT on Wednesday, March 3.

Baylor will host Oklahoma for back-to-back matches March 7-8 before opening up a four-match road stretch at Texas State on Wednesday, March 10. The Bears will head up to North Texas on Friday, March 12, then play at Houston and at Rice on March 18-19.

The Bears and Longhorns will meet for the fourth time in 2020-21 on Friday, March 26, at the Ferrell Center, marking the first match in the season series to be played in Waco. To close out the spring, BU will tangle with Texas State at home on Thursday, April
1.

All home matches are set to be broadcast via Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with possible network pickups being added at a later date.

Selections for the 2020 NCAA Division I Women’s Volleyball Championship will be announced on Sunday, April 4. The 2020 Championship will be held at the CHI Health Center in Omaha, Neb. on April 22 and 24. Dates and times for preliminary rounds are still to
be determined.
