WACO, Texas -- Baylor Athletics is expanding one of its most beloved game day traditions in a big way, with the original Bear Walk route returning for the first time since 2018 to create a longer, more fan-centered experience as part of the Fan First Era.



The enhanced Bear Walk will take place two hours before kickoff at every home game and serves as a marquee pre-game moment during home football game days on the Brazos.



While the Bear Walk has remained meaningful in recent seasons, the restored route expands the experience and creates more space, interaction and opportunities for fans to line the path and welcome the Bears during pre-game tailgating.



The return of the original route aligns with Baylor Athletics bringing tailgating back in-house, creating a more unified and intentional game day environment centered on connection, tradition and fan engagement.



"This is about creating the best possible game day experience for our fans," Vice President and Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Doug McNamee said. "The Bear Walk is one of our most powerful traditions we have, and restoring the original route allows even more fans to share in that moment. It reflects our commitment to putting fans at the center of everything we do -- that's what the Fan First Era is all about."



Fans are encouraged to arrive early, line the route and help set the tone for Baylor football each week. This fall, Baylor fans will be at the center of the Bear Walk experience.



Baylor football opens the 2026 home slate against Prairie View A&M on Sept. 12. Fans can purchase or renew season tickets at BaylorBears.com/tickets or call the Baylor Athletics Ticket Office at 254-710-1000.
