LUBBOCK, Texas – No. 15 Baylor women’s basketball couldn’t recover from an early surge and fell 87-56 to Texas Tech on Wednesday night at United Supermarkets Arena.
Baylor (22-6, 11-4 Big 12) trailed 22-15 after the first quarter and 48-28 at halftime, unable to slow a Texas Tech offense that shot 55.7% from the field and 38.1% from three on the night. The Bears were held to 36.4% shooting (20-55) and just 3-17 from beyond the arc, while the Lady Raiders forced 21 Baylor turnovers, converting them into 19 points.
Texas Tech (24-24, 11-4 Big 12) led by as many as 35 points late in the fourth quarter after Baylor’s best scoring stretch in the third that brought the game back within 15.

Kiersten Johnson grabbed a team-high six rebounds, four of those coming off the offensive glass, while Jana Van Gytenbeek and Yuting Deng each posted three assists.
