After the Jackrabbits rallied to tie the ballgame at one, in the fourth before the Baylor offense exploded for seven runs, highlighted by a grand slam off the bat of Toven, which brought the Bears lead to 8-1.

QUOTABLE
Glenn Moore on an efficient night from Peyton Tanner — “We had a good meeting yesterday with the pitchers, talking about wanting more efficiency than we had this past weekend. We had too many walks. Our strikeout to walk ratio was not good. Knowing, we are a young team, and we have kids with rust on them, I’m going to be patient with them, but the efficiency was there tonight. I think she [Tanner] had seven first-pitch strikes, and when you do that, you can control the game a little bit better. They barreled up some that didn’t leave the park, thank goodness, but that was pitching, too. If you can get them to miss enough to where you can get fly balls, you get quick innings, this was probably our most efficient outing.”
Moore on Toven’s Groove — “She’s in the zone right now, and I just told her, “Don’t think, just swing.” Get up there and play the game you’ve played all your life, and boy, she’s having a good time. She’s always been fun to watch, but when she’s in her zone, she’s a threat, because she can play the short game, and she can hit it out of the park, as we’ve seen a few times already.”
