WACO, Texas – No. 20 Baylor Volleyball returns home for a top-20 matchup on Saturday, hosting No. 9 TCU at 2 p.m. inside the Ferrell Center for the Bears’ annual “Go Gold” game.



Saturday will also serve as Baylor’s Alumni Game, with former players in attendance dating back to the program’s early years in the 1960s.



The Horned Frogs are led by a familiar face in head coach Jason Williams. In his third season at the helm for TCU, he spent seven years as an assistant on Ryan McGuyre’s staff in Waco before taking over in Fort Worth in December of 2021.



Baylor head coach Ryan McGuyre likes where his team stands entering the match, but knows this is a big next step for his team.



“Being 2-0 in conference is a great way to start,” he said. “There's a lot riding on this game as we move forward in the conference race. We saw some other ranked teams stub their toe the other day. So, I love where we're at. You always want to be a little bit healthier when you don't have all hands on deck. But I think our girls have been waiting for this match for a while.”



Under McGuyre’s leadership, Baylor has found steady success against in-state competition. The Bears own a 67-35 record against Texas programs during his tenure, including a 35-9 mark against current Big 12 teams from the Lone Star State.



The series with TCU has been tightly contested of late, with the two splitting the last eight meetings evenly, 4-4. Baylor is looking to swing the balance back its way while also chasing its first ranked win since knocking off then-No. 18 TCU, 3-2, on Oct. 25, 2024, inside the Ferrell Center



The Bears (7-3, 2-0) kept momentum rolling in conference play with a 3-1 win at Texas Tech on Wednesday night. Baylor hit .315 as a team, its second-highest percentage of the season and best in Big 12 play since November 2024. BU claimed its seventh-straight win over the Red Raiders and 14th-consecutive victory in Lubbock.



Individually, Florida transfer Gabrielle Essix delivered her second career double-double and first since 2022 with 12 kills and 10 blocks, becoming the first Baylor player to record 10 blocks in a match since Kara McGhee at West Virginia in 2022.
