TYLER, Texas – Baylor football redshirt sophomore running back Bryson Washington has been named to the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Honorable Mention for Week 3, as announced Tuesday by the organization.

Washington put up 135 rushing yards on 21 carries and scored two touchdowns in BU’s 42-7 victory over Samford on Saturday, marking his second-consecutive 100-yard performance of the season and eighth of his career. The effort was Washington’s sixth-career multi-TD outing. He is the only active player in FBS college football with six career games of at least 115 rushing yards and multiple rushing TDs.

This honor comes a week after standout Bears quarterback Sawyer Robertson and wide receiver Josh Cameron were recognized by the ECTR award for their performances in Week 2’s win at SMU. This is the fifth-career recognition by the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award for Washington, as he has previously been dubbed honorable mention three times and earned the award’s player of the week distinction once during his Freshman All-America campaign in 2024.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award recognizes the top offensive player in Division I football who also exhibits the enduring characteristics that define Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community and tenacity to persist as well as determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of reaching goals. Additionally, the recipient must either have played football at and graduated from a Texas high school and/or be currently playing at a Texas-based Division I four-year university.

Washington, Robertson and Cameron were each named to the award’s preseason watch list this summer.
