GAME NOTES

• RV/RV Baylor will face off against Tarleton State at home at 8 pm CT on ESPN+.

• This is the 11th meeting between the two with BU leading 8-2 in the overall record.

• This is the third time in the past four seasons that the Bears and Texans have met. Prior to 2022, the last matchup was in 1986.

• The Bears defense has shown in their first two games with a nationally 21st adjusted defensive efficiency ranking by KenPom. This is a big improvement for BU compared to last season after its first two games with a ranking of 54th in defense.

• The defense can notably be a direct impact from hiring Ron Sanchez, who helped build one of the nation’s premier defensive programs at Virginia.

• Baylor will honor Lacedarius Dunn into the Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame and Wall of Honor on Friday night.

• Dunn, commonly known as Lace, played for BU from 2007-11. Lace held the Big 12’s all-time scoring record when he finished his collegiate career and still remains Baylor’s all-time leading scorer with 2,285 points.

• Cameron Carr has had a hot start, averaging 22.0 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks, 61.9 FG% and 54.5 3FG% through two games.

• KenPom has Carr listed as the second-most impactful player in the country after Week 1.

• Carr 28 points he put up in Game 1 against UTRGV tied with Ja’Kobe Walter (2023) for most points in a Baylor debut game.

• Caden Powell had a solid game against RV/RV Washington, earning a double-double with 12 points and 10 boards. Powell is the first Waco-native to earn a scholarship in the Scott Drew era.

• Powell’s double-double marked the first of the season for BU and his sixth in his career.

• The Baylor offense has been showing off with six players scoring in double-figures against Washington and four in double-figures against Washington, including two (Carr & Yessoufou) with 20+ points.

• BU averaged 1.1 points per possession against UW and holds an offensive rating of #21 by KenPom.
