WACO, Texas – Baylor track & field’s Nathaniel Ezekiel was named to The Bowerman’s Pre-NCAA Indoor Championships Watch List, announced by the U.S. Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Wednesday afternoon. The award is the highest honor in collegiate track and field.



Ezekiel makes his debut on the watch list following a strong performance at the Big 12 Championships, which saw him set the No. 6 NCAA all-time mark of 44.74 in the men’s 400 meters. He is the first from the men’s sprint lineup since 2015 to be named to the watch list while being the fourth overall Baylor man to earn a selection.



On Thursday, Ezekiel was named the Big 12 Men’s Performer of the Year<https://baylorbears.com/news/2025/3/6/track-field-t-fs-nathaniel-ezekiel-named-big-12-mens-performer-of-the-year.aspx> of the 2025 indoor season, becoming the first Bear to claim the award since 2021.



Ezekiel currently ranks No. 1 in the Big 12 and NCAA and No. 2 in the World with his 400m mark. The Baylor track and field team concludes the indoor season at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Virginia Beach, Virginia, from March 14-15. In entries that were just made official, Ezekiel boasts qualifying marks in the 400m and the 4x400 relay team



Baylor’s Chinecherem Prosper Nnamdi is still receiving votes for the Bowerman based on the latest update. The next update of The Bowerman Watch List is slated for March 26 and 27.
