WACO, Texas – Baylor football’s Omar Aigbedion, Travion Barnes, Josh Cameron, Jackie Marshall, Sawyer Robertson, Keaton Thomas and Bryson Washington have been named Preseason All-Texas selections, as announced Monday by Dave Campbell’s Texas Football.

Cameron, Thomas and Washington were each named to the first team, while Aigbedion, Barnes, Marshall, and Robertson were tabbed to the second team. BU’s seven total honorees are the fourth-most in the state.

A native of Cedar Park, Texas, Cameron earned a pair of All-America honors in 2024 as a punt returner and garnered All-Big 12 praise as a wide receiver. After starting all 13 games as a wideout, Cameron led the Bears with 52 receptions, 754 yards and 10 touchdowns, while totaling four 100+ yard performances. His 10 scores ranked top-10 in Baylor single-season history, and he finished his junior season ranked as BU’s career leader in punt return average.

Thomas, a product of Jacksonville, Fla., is one of the top defenders in the country and a vocal and physical leader for the Bears. He earned first-team All-Big 12 honors in his debut season with BU in 2024, starting all 13 games at inside linebacker and racking up 114 tackles, including seven for a loss and 2.5 sacks. He added three quarterback hurries and returned an interception for a touchdown. Thomas had four games with double-digit tackles and teamed with Matt Jones to become the first BU linebacker duo since 2012 to each eclipse 100 tackles. His 114 stops ranked 25th in the nation a year ago.

Washington, a 6-0, 203-pound running back out of Franklin, Texas, rolled to Freshman All-America status in 2024 after shattering the program’s freshman rushing record. He played in just 11 games but ran for 1,028 yards with 12 TDs, logged six 100+ yard performances, the most by any freshman in program history, and caught 22 passes for 217 yards and a touchdown. His standout games included 10 carries for 116 yards and two scores in a beatdown of Texas Tech in Lubbock, four TDs and 218 all-purpose yards in a win over TCU, 18 rushes for 123 yards and four total TDs at West Virginia and 28 totes for 192 yards and two scores vs. Kansas.

A native of Katy, Texas, Aigbedion was a force at right guard in his debut season for Baylor after transferring from Montana State. A vocal and physical leader on a BU offensive line that improved to sixth nationally in offensive line efficiency according to Sport Source Analytics, up from No. 112 previous, he earned All-Big 12 honors while paving the way for an offense than ranked No. 20 nationally in total offense, No. 19 in scoring offense, No. 19 in team passing efficiency and No. 27 in total first downs. Additionally, Aigbedion anchored an O-Line that ranked No. 36 in fewest sacks allowed and No. 4 nationally in TFLs allowed.

Barnes, a senior linebacker out of Almonte Springs, Fla, starred at FIU last year and was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Year. He totaled 129 tackles in just 11 games, ranking fifth nationally, and finished with 10 TFLs, three sacks, two interceptions and one fumble recovery. Barnes logged 11 games with double-digit stops in his debut season after two years at Georgia Military Academy.

Marshall, a 6-3, 290-pound product of LaPlace, La., started all 13 games on the defensive line last year and finished with 42 tackles, 6.5 for a loss, three sacks, five hurries and a forced fumble, while logging a team-high 22 QB pressures. He emerged as a weapon as a redshirt freshman at outside linebacker, then broke out in 2024 after missing the 2023 season with an injury.

BU’s signal caller, Robertson had a breakout 2024 campaign after taking over quarterback duties full-time in Week 3. He led the Bears to eight wins, including six in a row to end the regular season, while throwing for 3,071 yards with 28 TDs and just eight interceptions, completing 62.2 percent of his passes. He also rushed 63 times for 230 yards with four TDs. He ranked among the tops in single-season program history in passing efficiency, passing yards, completions, completion percentages, TDs and TD:INT ratio. Robertson had four 300+ yard passing games and threw for a career-high 445 yards with two TDs vs. LSU in the Texas Bowl.
