IRVING, Texas – Baylor baseball senior outfielder Wesley Jordan has been named to the 2025 Preseason All-Big 12 Team, as announced Thursday by the conference office.

Jordan was named the team’s designated hitter, as selected in a vote by the league’s head coaches.

Starting 20 games as BU’s DH and making another 17 starts in left field, Jordan hit .331 with 11 doubles, nine home runs and 32 RBIs in 2024. He led the team with a .351 clip in Big 12 games with five homers and 17 RBIs to earn a spot on last season’s All-Big 12 Second Team. The product of Highland Village, Texas, hit two bombs in the final weekend series of the season after missing 10 games due to injury, finishing with a team-best nine long balls a year ago.

Jordan was a mainstay in the middle of the Baylor lineup, leading the club with nine multi-RBI efforts. He also reached base safely in 34 consecutive games to end the year, holding the sixth-longest on-base streak by a Bear since 2003. His .455 on-base percentage in all games ranked eighth in the Big 12 and his .632 slugging percentage placed 10th.

This marks Baylor’s first Preseason All-Big 12 honoree since Jared McKenzie’s unanimous selection in 2022.

Oklahoma State leads the Big 12 with four of the 20 student-athletes on the Preseason All-Big 12 Team. Cincinnati received three selections, Arizona, Arizona State, UCF and TCU each had two members, while Baylor, BYU, Kansas, Texas Tech and West Virginia were each represented by one player.

OSU’s Nolan Schubart was named the Big 12 Preseason Player of the Year, while KU’s Dominic Voegele was tabbed the Preseason Pitcher of the Year. Houston’s Cade Climie garnered Preseason Newcomer of the Year honors and TCU’s Noah Franco was named the Preseason Freshman of the Year.
