Game notes-

• Baylor heads to Hub City for an in-state matchup against the Texas Tech Lady Raiders at United Supermarkets Arena on Saturday afternoon. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. and will be streamed on ESPN+ and the Baylor Sports Media Network.

• The Bears are fresh off a 10-point upset of No. 13 West Virginia at Foster Pavilion on Tuesday night, giving BU its first Quad 1 and second AP Top-25 win of the season.

• Eying her final home stretch of collegiate hoops, Sarah Andrews will break the Big 12 Conference record for career games played when she takes the court on Saturday afternoon. The new record of 159 (and counting) bests Iowa State’s Ashley Joens, who took the top spot after the 2023 season.

• The Bears remain the leading rebounding team in the Big 12 Conference, averaging 43.23 per game, enough for sixth in the NCAA, and hold an average margin of 10.7 boards over their opponents.

• Back in the AP Top 25, the Bears reentered the rankings on Monday, February 10. Placed at No. 25 in its fifth appearance of 2024-25, BU received votes in eight editions while being left out twice.

• A 55-47 series that has been controlled by Baylor in each of the previous 30 games dating back to January 18, 2012, Baylor and Texas Tech face off for the first time this season after two games (regular season and Big 12 Championship) in the 2023-24 campaign.

• The last win for the Lady Raiders came on February 15, 2006, in Lubbock by just two points.

• Last season’s 61-32 defeat of Texas Tech came at Foster Pavilion in the Brittney Griner jersey retirement game gave the Lady Raiders a tie for their fewest points ever and fourth-fewest in a Big 12 league game.

• Texas Tech enters Saturday’s contest with two averaging double figures. Jasmine Shavers leads the squad with 14.6, ahead of Bailey Maupin’s 13.0. Sarengbe Sanogo’s 4.3 rebounds per game are also good enough for the team lead.

• Last time out, the Lady Raiders lost to No. 9 TCU in Fort Worth, 63-42, on Saturday afternoon.

• Through games on Feb. 12, Baylor is ranked 19th in the NET, going 1-3 against Quad 1 programs and 4-2 over Quad 2.

• BU’s highest-ranked NET win is over No. 13 West Virginia. The Bears upset the Mountaineers, 75-65, led by 21 points from Aaronette Vonleh and 13 rebounds from Darianna Littlepage-Buggs.

• Remaining in the Big 12 slate, BU is set to face two Q1 teams, two in Q2 and Texas Tech in Q3.

• The Lady Raiders enter the contest at No. 87, with a NET-best win over No. 72 Missouri State.

• Baylor’s roster has produced five double-digit scoring performances in 11 games this season, five coming in rugged Big 12 Conference play. Most recently, Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (19 pts), Yaya Felder (15 pts), Jada Walker (14 pts), Aaronette Vonleh (12 pts) and Aliyah Matharu (11 pts) were all over 10 points at Houston on February 5.

• Among the top 20 scoring programs in the country, Baylor is one of three schools with five averaging doubles figures, joining Tennessee and SFA.

• BU is also one of four Power Four programs that average five in double figures: Baylor, Tennessee, Kentucky and Cal.

• As the highest-scoring offense in the Big 12, Baylor is the only school with five averaging 10 or more points per game, ahead of K-State’s four and seven programs with three (TCU, Oklahoma State, West Virginia, Utah, Colorado, UCF and Houston).

• Fifth-year senior Sarah Andrews, who has spent all five years in a Baylor uniform, is No. 2 all-time in games played for Baylor, the most in the NCAA era, and No. 4 in games started.

• 158 games played is the second-most in the program, and the most in the 43-year span of WBB as an NCAA-sponsored sport. The overall record of 162 is held by Suzie Snider Eppers from 1973-77 while the Bears competed in the AIAW. Andrews is on-pace to break the all-time record at 163 games in Baylor’s March 2 matchup against TCU.

• When Andrews takes the court in Lubbock, the fifth-year senior will break the Big 12 record for career games played at 159, besting the recent record set by Iowa State’s Ashley Joens (2019-23).

• 126 games started ties her with current assistant coach Sophia Young-Malcolm at 126. National champion Brittney Griner holds the games started record at 148.

• Andrews is also hit her 259th-career 3-pointer against LA Tech for the program record, breaking Odyssey Sims’ figure that set in the 2010-14 seasons. Sims’ previous record of 258 3-pointers came in 145 games while Andrews hit her 259th in the 141st game.

• Andrews already set the record for 3-pointers attempted, hit last season 659.

• The Irving, Texas, native also recorded her 500th-career assist against Villanova, becoming one of five to reach that milestone completely in a Baylor uniform. Against the Houston Cougars in Waco, Andrews is moved past Didi Richards for lone possession of third-most assists in program history.

• The Bears got their highest ranked win of the season yet against No. 18 West Virginia, 75-65, in a midweek bout at Foster Pavilion.

• BU shot an even 50.0% from the field and from three, their second-best performance behind the arc in conference play.

• WVU, a team that forces a league-high 25.4 turnovers, forced just 16 from Baylor in their second-lowest total on the year to then-No. 5 Texas (15 TOs).

• The win gave Baylor its first set Q1 win of the season in the fourth attempt.

• Darianna Littlepage-Buggs recorded her second career-best assist performance in just three games, increasing her total to seven. Sarah Andrews also tallied seven assists, matching Littlepage-Buggs for the team lead on the night.

• BU totaled four players in double figures: Aaronette Vonleh (21 pts), Bella Fontleroy (15 pts), Jada Walker (13 pts) and Andrews (12 pts).
