SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Baylor women’s basketball junior Darianna Littlepage-Buggs has been announced as a top 10 candidate for the 2025 Katrina McClain Power Forward of the Year Award, the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame announced Thursday.

First selected for the preseason watch list in October, Littlepage-Buggs averages a double-double with 13.9 points and 10.0 rebounds through 23 games played. The junior had a big night in game No. 1 of the 2024-25 season, putting up a season-high 25 points with her first 3-pointer. Since then, the Oklahoma City, Okla., native has led the Baylor scoring efforts six times and the rebounding efforts 16 times with new career-high marks in rebounds, assists, steals, 3-pointers and free throws, as well as attempts in all three shot categories.

Littlepage-Buggs most recently scored her 1,000th-career point against Houston, putting up a 19-point, seven-rebound night with a career-high six assists.

Joining Littlepage-Buggs on the list are DeYona Gaston (Auburn), Makayla Timpson (Florida State), Yvonne Ejim (Gonzaga), Kendall Bostic (Illinois), Addy Brown (Iowa State), Aneesah Morrow (LSU), Liatu King (Notre Dame), Sania Feagin (South Carolina) and Kiki Iriafen (USC). Of those 10, five, including Littlepage-Buggs, average a double-double this far into the 2024-25 campaign.

The candidate list, which started as 20 in the preseason, will continue to be fluid until the announcement of the five finalists in late March. The winner of the Katrina McClain Award will be selected by top women’s college basketball personnel, including media members, head coaches, sports information directors and Hall of Famers.

Fan voting for the Katrina McClain Award begins on Friday at hoophallawards.com. The winner of the fan vote will receive one automatic committee vote during the finalist selection process.

NaLyssa Smith, one of the newest members of the Dallas Wings, was Baylor’s previous Katrina McClain Award winner in both the 2021 and 2022 seasons and is just one of two players to ever repeat as the top power forward.

Baylor women's basketball is presented by Central National Bank, a family-owned, independent bank headquartered in Waco, Texas, that provides uniquely personal service while simultaneously embracing the latest developments in banking technology.
