Game notes:

• Baylor welcomes Texas Tech to Waco to open Big 12 play on Sunday afternoon in the nightcap of a doubleheader with MBB taking on Southern. Tipoff for the Bears and Lady Raiders is set for 3 p.m. on ESPN+ and the Baylor Sports Media Network.

• The Bears face the Lady Raiders for the 104th time in program history, riding a 31-game winning streak dating back to 2012. Collen is 7-0 against Gerlich since her arrival in 2021-22, claiming all seven meetings.

• Though games on Dec. 18, Kiersten Johnson (blocks), Darianna Littlepage-Buggs (double-doubles, rebounds, rebounds per game) and Taliah Scott (free throw percentage) each hold Big 12-best stats, while the team leads in blocks per game.

• Baylor is ranked 15th in the AP Poll and 15th in the USA TODAY Coaches Poll after its 11-2 start to the season.

• An 11-2 record through the first 13 games ties for the second-best start in the Nicki Collen era (matching 2021-22), behind only 2023-24’s perfect 11-0 non-conference record. That 2023-24 team extended its winning streak to 14-0 with Big 12 victories over Texas, TCU, and Houston before suffering its first loss.

• BU holds a 27-game win streak in regular season non-league home games, last dropping a Nov. 20, 2022, contest against then-No.19 Maryland, 73-68, at the Ferrell Center.

• Bella Fontleroy is 10 blocks away from 100 career blocks.

• Fontleroy is three 3-pointers away from entering the program’s top five career list.

• Darianna Littlepage-Buggs is two steals away from 100 career steals.

• Littlepage-Buggs is 41 rebounds away from 1,000 career rebounds.

• Kayla Nelms is one point away from 100 career points.

• Jana Van Gytenbeek is 88 points away from 500 career points.
