TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Baylor football wide receiver Josh Cameron has been named to the Biletnikoff Award preseason watch list, as announced Wednesday by the Tallahassee Quarterback Club.

The Biletnikoff Award annually recognizes college football’s most outstanding FBS receiver. Any player, regardless of position, who catches a pass is eligible for the award. Cameron is one of 47 pass catchers named to this year’s watch list, including 42 wide receivers and 10 players from the Big 12.

A native of Cedar Park, Texas, Cameron garnered All-Big 12 praise as a wideout in 2024. After starting all 13 games, he led the Bears with 52 receptions, 754 yards and 10 touchdowns, while totaling four 100+-yard performances. His 10 scores ranked inside the top 10 in Baylor single-season history.

Additionally, Cameron earned a pair of All-America honors as a punt returner a year ago, returning 14 punts for 290 yards, an average of 20.7 yards per return. That mark would have led the nation, but Cameron finished just shy of the NCAA threshold for punt returns to qualify, a product of opponents not allowing him to return a punt over the final four games of the season. He finished his junior campaign as BU’s career leader in punt return average.

Already a preseason All-America, All-Big 12, and All-Texas selection, Cameron picked up his second watch list nod of the preseason after previously being named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list, which recognizes the most versatile player in college football. Additionally, Cameron checked in at No. 49 on Bruce Feldman’s “Freaks List” for The Athletic and No. 23 on the Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Texas Top 50 list.

The Biletnikoff Award’s semifinalists, three finalists and award recipient are selected by the highly distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee, a group of 600 prominent college football journalists, commentators, announcers, former award winners and other former receivers.

Semifinalists will be announced on November 17, with the finalists’ announcement coming a week later on November 25. This year’s Biletnikoff Award winner will be announced on December 12 as part of The Home Depot College Football Awards show on ESPN.
