OVERLAND PARK, Kansas – Baylor baseball sixth-year senior right-handed pitcher Gabe Craig has been named to the College Baseball Foundation’s Pitcher of the Year Watch List, as announced Friday.

Fifty-four of the nation’s best hurlers were included on Friday’s watch list, representing 20 different conferences. Craig is one of 22 Power-4 pitchers named to the watch list and is one of just two Big 12 representatives, joining TCU’s Tommy LaPour.

In 15 appearances so far this season, Craig has been outstanding out of the bullpen with a 1-0 record and a 1.08 ERA. He has collected six saves and has struck out 26 batters while walking just two across 16.2 innings of work. Craig owns a ridiculous 0.60 WHIP, having allowed just eight hits, and held opponents to a .145 batting average.

Thirteen of Craig’s 15 outings this season have been scoreless, while an additional nine appearances of his have been hitless. The native of Tyler, Texas, has racked up multiple strikeouts in 10 outings, including a stretch of eight-consecutive strikeouts across three appearances in mid-March.

Craig’s six saves rank as the second-most in the Big 12 and places 28th in the country.

This year’s award will be presented later this season by the College Baseball Foundation.
