WACO, Texas – Baylor women’s basketball head coach Nicki Collen announced the addition of Auburn transfer Yuting Deng on Tuesday.

“Yuting was an incredibly important addition for us with the loss of so many of our 3-point shooters to graduation,” said Collen. “Yuting is a guard with elite size and the ability to score the ball at all three levels. While only playing one semester at Auburn, she showed an effortless stroke from 3 and excelled in the mid-range game while competing against the best in the SEC. Her size and strength will allow us to play her at multiple positions on offense, while also allowing her to defend multiple positions on defense. Yuting plays with joy for the game, which will be evident in how she competes, how she smiles, and how she connects with the fans off the court. We are so thrilled to add Yuting to the Baylor Family.”

The 6-foot guard joined the Tiger ranks for the final 13 games of the regular season, seeing an average of just over 28 minutes per game, appearing in all but one available contest. In those 12 games, Deng averaged 11.8 points and 2.5 boards while totaling six steals, five assists and a pair of blocks for recognition on the SEC All-Freshman Team.

Deng delivered a career-best day against Vanderbilt, helping lead Auburn to an overtime victory. In the February matchup, she poured in 27 points and grabbed nine rebounds in 42 minutes on the floor. She also connected on a career-high four three-pointers—a feat she also matched in games against Georgia and Florida.

The Hunan Province, China, native competed on the U24 national 3x3 team, leading the squad to a tournament victory in the FIBA Series in Debrecen, Hungary. She also was featured on the U18 national team in the FIBA Asia Cup.

The 2024-25 Baylor squad finished the season with a 28-8 record while matching Collen's best Big 12 record at 15-3. BU finished second in the Big 12 regular season, advanced to its 16th Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship final and hosted the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament for the 11th time in program history.

Baylor women's basketball is presented by Central National Bank, a family-owned, independent bank headquartered in Waco, Texas, that provides uniquely personal service while simultaneously embracing the latest developments in banking technology.
