FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Baylor women’s golf finished Saturday in ninth place at the Mason Rudolph Championship at the Legends Club.

Sera Hasegawa and Bridget Boczar led Baylor in the second round, with rounds at par or better for the second time in two days. Hasegawa finished the day tied for 12th, while Boczar moved into a tie for 18th. Five players share the 36-hole lead at the top of the individual leaderboard with 9-under 135s.

Texas leads the team standings with a 21-under 555. With a 7-under 569, the Bears are within 10 shots of 2nd place Georgia Southern and its 14-under 559.

THE RUNDOWN
Hasegawa bagged an early birdie at No. 1 but gave it back with a bogey at No. 5. A birdie at No. 7 and a bogey at No. 8 dropped her back to even at the turn. Another bogey-birdie exchange at Nos. 12 and 14 kept her at even, but a double-bogey at No. 16 pushed her back over par for the first time in the round. The senior closed strong, though, with birdies at Nos. 17 and 18.

Boczar shot her third round at par or better in five chances with the Bears after a 1-under 71 on Saturday. The junior raced out to 3-under with birdies at Nos. 1, 2, and 4 but finished the front nine at 1-under after a bogey at No. 5, a double-bogey at No. 8 and a birdie at No. 9. A couple of bogeys at Nos. 11 and 14 dropped her back over par, but she closed strong with birdies at Nos. 16 and 18.

Silje Ohma shot a 4-over 76 to settle into 37th place after Saturday. After a pair of birdies at Nos. 1 and 2 to start, Ohma gave a couple of shots back with bogeys at Nos. 3 and 5. She made the turn with an even-par 36 after a birdie at No. 7 and a bogey at No. 8. The junior shot back to 3-under with three birdies in her first four holes on the back nine, only to be derailed by a triple-bogey at No. 14. She followed with a pair of double-bogeys at Nos. 15 and 16 to drop back to 4-over on the day.

BaiMai Seema recorded a 2-over 74 in the second round to finish the day in a tie for 52nd. Three birdies in her first seven holes pushed her to 3-under before dropping her first shot of the day at No. 8. Turning at 2-under, Seema played her final nine holes at 3-over with bogeys at Nos. 12 and 16 around a double-bogey at No. 15.

Ashleen Kaur carded a 2-over 74 for the second-straight day to move into a tie for 61st. On the heels of a double-bogey at No. 1, the sophomore played the front nine at 1-over with birdies at Nos. 4 and 7 and bogeys at Nos. 2, 6 and 9.
