WACO, Texas – No. 17 Baylor volleyball hosts Colorado on Friday night at the Ferrell Center, with a first serve time of 7 p.m.
It will be “Dad and Daughter Night” with fathers encouraged to bring their daughters to the match.
The Bears (14-6, 6-3) and Buffaloes (10-12, 3-7) will meet for the first and only time this season on Friday. The pair of teams last met in 2017 at the Ferrell Center in a non-conference match during the NCAA Tournament after being conference foes from 1996-2010. The Buffs lead the all-time series as Big 12 opponents, 20-10.
BU is 108-47 in Big 12 matches under head coach Ryan McGuyre and have raked in 234 Big 12 wins overall since 1996.
Baylor faces the Buffaloes on Friday after pushing past Iowa State in four sets in its midweek match on Wednesday.
Leading the way for the Bears through 20 matches are senior outside hitter Elise McGhee (248 kills, 33 aces), senior libero Lauren Briseño (295 digs), graduate transfer setter Jackie Barrett Frazier (564 assists) and senior middle blocker Manuela Bibinbe (57 blocks).
Barrett Frazier recorded a triple-double against Iowa State on Wednesday night with 10 kills, 23 assists and 16 digs. The last player to do so was now-Baylor Hall of Famer Taylor Barnes in 2009.
Briseño is just one ace away from the 80th of her career, which would tie the fifth-most career aces in the rally-scoring era at Baylor. Against the Horned Frogs, she entered the top-10 for career digs at BU, currently registering 1,232 over her four-year career to put her in ninth.
Colorado comes to Waco after falling in three sets to No. 18 TCU on Wednesday, 25-18, 25-20, 25-15.
The match will be streamed on ESPN+ at 7 p.m. CT, with Pete Souza and Baylor volleyball alumna Hannah Lockin Sedwick on the call. Live stats will be available at BaylorStats.com, with a full recap and final box score uploaded to BaylorBears.com after the conclusion of the match.
Fans interested in purchasing tickets for home matches can visit BaylorBears.com/Tickets. All seats are general admission at the Ferrell Center, with the student section behind the team benches and on the end lines. Seats are first-come, first-served and doors open 60 minutes before match time.
