FORT WORTH, Texas — Baylor women’s golf finished its fall slate with a seventh-place finish at the Charles Schwab Women’s Collegiate Tuesday at Ridglea Country Club.
The Bears were led by Sera Hasegawa and her 1-over 214, which was good enough to tie for 10th. Tuesday marked her second top-10 in as many weeks entering the winter break. The senior played six of her final eight rounds of the fall at par or better. Texas A&M’s Cayetana Fernandez shot the round of the day to overtake her teammate, Vanessa Borovilos, for individual medalist honors.
The Aggies came up just a couple of shots short of Wake Forest, who led wire-to-wire, capturing the win with a 5-over 857. Baylor's 31-over 883 was 11 shots back of sixth-place Kentucky and four shots ahead of eighth-place Oklahoma.

Jenny Lee tied for 40th as well on the heels of a 5-over 76 in the final round. Four bogeys cost her four shots after opening with a birdie at No. 10, making the turn with a 3-over 38. Three more bogeys at Nos. 2-4 dropped her to 6-over before she closed strong with a birdie at No. 9.

QUOTABLE:
Head coach Jay Goble — “This week we just did not have our best stuff. We were so excited about playing close to home, so we are disappointed to not have played better, but that happens sometimes. This is a great team with tons of talent. We will be ready for the spring and our championship season after a lot of hard work this winter.”
