TULSA, Okla. — Baylor men’s golf will tee it up at The Clerico on Monday morning at Cedar Ridge Country Club, making its debut in the event that began in 2022.

The Bears are one of 13 teams participating in the two-day 54-hole event hosted by Oral Roberts University. In an event named for a close friend of Baylor head coach Mike McGraw, he wants to see his team finish the semester on a high note.

“We are very excited to compete in the Clerico this week in Tulsa,” McGraw said. “The event is named after a good friend of mine, John Clerico, who has been in incredible supporter of college athletics and college golf, as a whole. On the course, this is a great chance for us to put our best foot forward going into the winter break. I’m looking forward to watching our guys compete over the next couple of days.”

Zach Heffernan will anchor the line up for the second time this season. Coming off an impressive 3-2 showing at the Big 12 Match Play, the senior aims to build on that in his first appearance at the Clerico.

Freshman Vincent Stjernfeldt will take the No. 2 position in the last tournament of the fall. Qualifying for the lineup in each of the last two events, the big Swede put together an impressive 3-1-1 mark in his debut at the Big 12 Match Play.

Jonas Appel will get the nod at No. 3 this week coming off a strong showing in Hockley. The junior won each of his last two matches, including Baylor’s lone point in the championship against BYU.

Sam Dossey will return to the lineup in Tulsa, playing out of the No. 4 spot. After opening the season in the lineup at the Gopher Invitational, Dossey led a handful of individuals at the Waco River Classic with a tie for seventh last month at Bear Ridge Golf Club.

Freshman Corbin Null makes his first appearance in the lineup grabbing the fifth-and-final spot. The Waco, Texas, native has played two events as an individual so far this season, shooting par-or-better in three of his six rounds this season.

The teams will play 36 holes on Monday with tee times beginning at 7:45 a.m. The final round will commence with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Tuesday morning.
