NASSAU, Bahamas —Baylor women’s golf opens its penultimate fall event on Friday morning at the White Sands Invitational at the Ocean Club Golf Course in the Bahamas.
All eight players on the Baylor roster will get a chance to compete this week, as three individuals will compete alongside the Bears’ usual five-person lineup. Head coach Jay Goble likes what he has seen from his team so far this fall and wants to see them build upon that on the picturesque Ocean Club Course.
“After a few weeks away, we are excited to get back to competition in one of the most beautiful places in the world,” he said. “This is a great opportunity for us to build on some of the good things we've done this fall while getting some playing time for our entire roster."
Jenny Lee is set to debut in the lineup at the No. 1 spot. The freshman from South Korea has made one other appearance this season at the Waco River Classic, where she finished tied for second on the strength of a final-round 69.
Bridget Boczar gets the nod in the No. 2 spot after a couple of solid showings in the first two tournaments of the year. The junior transfer from Oakland enters this weekend tied for the team lead in par-3 scoring average (2.92).
Senior BaiMai Seema is off to one of the best starts of her career, holding a 73.17 stroke average ahead of the season’s third event. Playing at No. 3, Seema has had all six of her rounds count towards the team’s score this year.
Silje Ohma will play at No. 4 this week on the heels of a 26th-place finish at the Mason Rudolph Championship.
Sera Hasegawa will take the fifth and final spot in the lineup. The senior tied for 18th at the Mason Rudolph Championship on the strength of three rounds at par or better.
Ashleen Kaur, Yoonjeong Huh and Mallory Matthews will compete in the event as individuals.
The first round will begin on Friday with a 7 a.m. CT shotgun start. Starting hole assignments, stats and scoring for the event can be found at Scoreboard.clippd.com.<https://scoreboard.clippd.com/tournaments/233481/scoring/participants>
