Story lines
• No.12/14 Baylor hosts former BU assistant Billy Gillispie (1995-97) and his Tarleton Texans on Sunday for a 7 p.m. tip at Foster Pavilion, on student appreciation night
• The Bears are 7-2 all-time against the Texans and 3-6 all-time against Gillispie (won three-straight)
• Baylor boasts an impressive 70-8 mark in home games over the last five-plus season, including a 9-2 record at Foster Pavilion
• BU is 85-25 against Texas teams since the start of 2011-2012
• BU gave the home fans plenty to cheer about the last time out with a 104-67 win over Sam Houston
• For the first time since 2013, the Bears had seven players score in double figures against the Bearkats
• Baylor has not trailed in either of its last two games, marking the first time since last December The Bears have gone back-to-back games without ever trailing
• The last time Baylor didn't trail in three-straight games was Dec. 20, 2021-Jan. 1, 2022 (Alcorn State, Northwestern State & Iowa State)

• Norchad Omier and VJ Edgecombe both recorded double-doubles for the Bears, the second time in the last six games BU had multiple players notch a double-double in the same game
• With two double-doubles in three games this year, Omier is the first player since Lawrence Roberts in 2001 with two in the first three games of a Baylor career
• Edgecombe is the fastest Bear to record a double-double since Kendall Brown got one in his second game of his freshman season in 2021
• Jayden Nunn scored a game-high 19 points, his seventh game in his last 14 in double-figures
• Entering this game with 999 career points, Nunn is on the cusp of becoming the fourth BU player on the roster with 1,000 career points (Hubbard, Omier, Roach)
• Scoring 10 points on Tuesday night, Robert Wright is the second freshman in the last three seasons to record double figures in each of his first three games (Keyonte George).
• The NCAA's active leader in career double-doubles (70), Omier added one more to his illustrious career with 15 points and 12 rebounds in a win over No. 16 Arkansas, earning "4PT Dallas Duel" MVP honors
• Omier is the NCAA's active leader in career rebounds (1,346) and double-doubles (70), while ranking 10th in career points (1,871)
• With his 12 pts and 6 assist against Gonzaga, Wright became the first freshman in the Drew era with 10+ points and 6+ assists in their debut, and the first Baylor player since Manu Lecomte in 2016 with those numbers in a Baylor debut.
• Baylor is one of just four teams to win at least one NCAA Tournament game in each of the last five tournaments.
• The Bears are one of four programs to be ranked inside the top-10 in each of the last six seasons
• The Bears are the only team in the country with a top-19 pick in each of the last four NBA Draft, and one of just two programs with a top-20 pick in fourth-straight drafts (Duke)
• Edgecombe is Baylor's 4th-straight Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year. BU and KU are the only teams in league history to have the preseason conference freshman of the year in 4-straight seasons
