WACO, Texas – The Baylor acrobatics & tumbling team has signed nine new student-athletes for the 2026 season, announced Wednesday.
“This signing class is smaller than our usual, but that is by design,” said head coach Felecia Mulkey. “This small class will pack a mighty punch when it comes to what each will bring to the table in different areas and what that will mean for our overall dynamic. The collegiate Acrobatics and Tumbling recruiting base is broad. To be successful and balanced, we pull from many different backgrounds. This year’s signing class features standouts from competitive cheer, Acrobatic Gymnastics, Artistic Gymnastics and Power Tumbling.”
Coming to Baylor from a Competitive Cheer background are Aaliyah “Lele” Adams-Mayfield, Camryn Jones and Patricia “PJ” Bujdos.
Adams-Mayfield, from Centreville, Virginia, is a powerful tumbler who will bring many high-scoring combinations to the mat. She’s also a talented top who specializes in hand-to-foot connections.
From Conway, Arkansas, Jones will be a tumbler and base for the Bears. She has big tumbling passes that will score well for Baylor. As a base, she has the overhead strength and potential to fit right into the program.
Bujdos, a base specialist from Nashville, Tennessee, has the potential to contribute in Acro, Toss and Pyramid events right away for BU.
Joining the squad from an Artistic Gymnastics background are Kelsey Robinson and Charlotte “Sharky” Bernard.
Robinson’s technique will serve the Bears well in Team Event and Tumbling. The plan is to train her as a base and potential mid-level base once on campus in order for her to contribute in several areas. Robinson is from Hewitt, Texas, and attends Midway High School.
Bernard comes from Bayport, New York, and will double as a tumbler and a top. Aside from tumbling, Acro and Toss will be key for her.
Lawrence Owens comes to Baylor from a Power Tumbling background. A native of Richardson, Texas, Owens’ specialty will be powerful whip passes among other big combinations. She will also train as a top once in Waco.
Three new Bears join from an Acrobatic Gymnastics background in Averi Hughes, Gabby Vathy and Moraeah “Mo” Arthur.
Hughes has previous experience as an Acro top. The Boerne, Texas, native will bring hand-to-hand skills that will score well for Baylor.
Vathy, from San Antonio, Texas, competed as part of a women’s trio group and will be able to base and be a mid-level base in Pyramids, bringing that ever-important base hand-to-hand connection skill.
Arthur is a standout base in the world of Acrobatic Gymnastics, from Owensville, Missouri. She competed as a base in a women’s pair and medaled at the 2024 World Championship. Arthur brings both hand-to-hand balance and dynamic release skills that will ensure that Baylor will continue to lead in this area, helping to change and advance the sport of collegiate Acrobatics & Tumbling.
“This class is well-rounded, and the whole is truly greater than the sum of its parts,” said Mulkey. “I cannot wait for Baylor fans to get a chance to see what these amazing female athletes will bring to the sport and, more importantly, to our campus community! Baylor family – help us welcome these Bears!”
