WACO, Texas – Baylor women's golf signed Oakland’s Bridget Boczar, head coach Jay Goble announced Monday. She will join the Bears with two years of eligibility beginning in 2024-25.

“We are very excited to bring Bridget to Baylor to play on our team next year,” Goble said. “She has been a very strong player in Michigan for a few years, winning three events last year and a conference title. I think Bridget is ready to take her game to the next level, and competing at Baylor for the next two years will help her do just that.”

A native of Canton, Mich., Boczar is coming off a stellar sophomore season where she won three times, highlighted by a victory at the Horizon League Championship, spearheading the Grizzlies’ team win. As a result, Oakland earned a berth in the 2024 NCAA East Lansing Regional. Boczar’s breakout season garnered Horizon League Player of the Year honors and First Team All-Horizon League honors.

In 2023-24, she led her team in stroke average with a 73.70 across 30 rounds, and in addition to her win at the conference championship, she captured medalist honors at the A-Ga-Ming Invitational and the Chippewa Invitational. She added four more top-5 finishes throughout the year and only finished outside the top-5 three times.

As a freshman, she was named to the All-Horizon League First Team and the Horizon League all-tournament team, compiling a stroke average of 74.85 over 27 rounds.

Boczar comes to Baylor nationally ranked by Scoreboard (No. 377) while sitting at No. 732 in the latest Women’s World Amateur Golf Ranking. Her ranking is fourth on Baylor's returning roster, behind Sera Hasegawa (No. 84), Ashleen Kaur (No. 134) and BaiMai Seema (No. 211).

The junior will join a roster that includes five of the six players who competed for BU at the NCAA Championship this season, including Hasegawa, Kaur, Seema, Silje Ohma and Yoonjeong Huh.
