GREENWOOD, Ind. – Baylor volleyball had four named Academic All-District by College Sports Communicators (CSC), formerly CoSIDA, on Tuesday.
Jackie Barrett Frazier, Elise McGhee, Allie Sczech and Tehani Ulufatu earned the Academic All-District nod, honored for their performances on the court and in the classroom.
The starting setter for the Bears, Barrett Frazier is working toward her master’s in Theology, with an emphasis in Sports Studies. The graduate student finished at Auburn in May 2024 with a cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.9 before coming to Baylor.
McGhee, a senior outside hitter, will graduate with her degree in Health Science Studies in May 2025. The San Antonio native adds another feather in her cap in terms of accolades for her senior season at Baylor with the CSC nod. She finished her career with over 1000 kills and more than 70 aces, raking in 20 or more kills in four matches this season.
An opposite, Sczech will graduate a year early in May 2025 with a dual degree in both Communication and Journalism. She finished her junior season of volleyball recording her 600th kill and 200th career block, one of the top-5 juniors under McGuyre in kills with 268 this season.
Ulufatu, a sophomore defensive specialist, is on the Pre-Business track at BU. The San Francisco native finished her second year with 15 matches as a starter, bringing in 22 assists, 20 service aces and 195 digs.
Barrett Frazier, McGhee and Sczech were selected to advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team honorees will be announced on January 14, 2025.
The four Bears are among 41 Big 12 players on the list from CSC. Baylor’s four tie with Cincinnati, Houston, Iowa State, Kansas State, Kansas and Utah, while Arizona State had three, and BYU, Colorado, TCU, Texas Tech and West Virginia each had two named.
