WACO, Texas – Seven Baylor football standouts have earned postseason recognition from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, as announced Tuesday by the publication.

Junior Omar Aigbedion (OL), redshirt sophomore Keaton Thomas (LB) and sophomore Palmer Williams (P) were named to the DCTF All-Texas First Team, while redshirt junior Sawyer Robertson (QB), redshirt freshman Bryson Washington (RB), redshirt junior Josh Cameron (WR) and redshirt senior Lorando Johnson (DB) earned spots on the Second Team.

The Bears’ seven selections are the most of any of the Big 12 teams in the state and third overall behind Texas and SMU.

Aigbedion has made significant impact on the offensive line in his first year at Baylor. The right guard has helped the Bears’ offensive line efficiency rating to sixth in the nation, compared to 112th during the 2023 season. Aigbedion, a Katy, Texas native, holds an 80.9 pass block rating on the year, only allowing one sack at right guard with a 99.2 pass blocking efficiency rating.

In his first season in Waco, Thomas turned heads by leading the team with 107 total tackles, the most by a Bear in a single season since Terrel Bernard's 112 in 2019. Thomas added seven tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks with one interception, a pick-six that he returned 35 yards in the season opener against Tarleton. Thomas produced four double-digit tackle outputs in 2024, including in three consecutive games against TCU, at West Virginia and at Houston. Thomas recently earned First-Team All-Big 12 honors for his efforts this season.

Williams punted 41 times for 2,034 yards this season, leading the Big 12 with a BU school-record 49.6-yard average. In 2024, the sophomore from Advance, N.C., booted 21 kicks beyond 50 yards and downed 14 punts inside the 20. Williams had a career day at Utah in Week 2, setting a school record with 62.7 yards per punt, including massive boots of 57, 60, 76 and 79 yards, becoming the first Bear in program history with a pair of 70+ yard punts in the same game. Williams earned First-Team All-Big 12 as a punter.

After taking over the starting job in Week 3, Robertson has carried Baylor with 2,626 passing yards and 26 touchdowns this season. Robertson leads the Big 12 Conference in QB rating (83.9) and ranks fifth in the nation. He has had seven of his 10 starts in 2024 come with a QBR of at least 80. The redshirt junior has thrown at least three passing TDs in six games this season. A native of Lubbock, Robertson had a thrilling homecoming to his hometown in Week 8, throwing a career-high five TD passes in a rout of the Red Raiders, 59-32. He was named to the Davey O’Brien Trophy QB of the Year Midseason Watch List, tabbed Big 12 Player of the Week, and Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Player of the Week following the beatdown in Lubbock.

Redshirt freshman Washington is making waves across the country and Big 12 as one of the most promising freshman tailbacks. A native of Franklin, Texas, Washington leads the team with 170 carries and 1,004 yards, including 12 TDs. Washington became the first freshman running back in Baylor history to earn over 1,000 yards in a season. He has become a threat in the pass game as well, catching 22 balls for 217 yards. Over his 10 games in 2024, Washington is averaging 122.1 all-purpose yards per game. Washington was a standout against TCU, rushing for the most TDs by a Bear since 2011 with four and his 196 yards on the ground marked the most since 2016.

Redshirt junior wide receiver Cameron has hauled in nine TDs in 2024, leading the team and ranking tied for 11th in single-season BU history. Cameron’s nine touchdowns also ranks 15th in the nation. The Cedar Park, Texas, native has 44 catches for 643 yards and ranks second the nation in punt returns, averaging 20.7 yards per return. Cameron has 941 all-purpose yards through 12 games in 2024. Cameron recently earned First-Team All-Big 12 honors as a KR/PR.

Redshirt senior Johnson, commonly known as “Snaxx,” has recorded 15 total tackles on the year, 13 being solo. The Lancaster, Texas native, broke up 11 passes in 2024 and started the year with a PBU in each of the first four games and most notably broke up an impressive four passes at West Virginia. Johnson played his first three years at Baylor and was a key member of the cornerback rotation, before transferring to Arkansas for the 2023 season and returning to Waco for the 2024 season. Johnson was an Honorable Mention for the All-Big 12 awards this season.
