WACO, Texas – Baylor Equestrian Jumping Seat fifth year Madison Mitchell has been named Big 12 Flat Rider of the Month for November, as announced by the conference office Thursday afternoon.
Mitchell picked up honors in Flat after a 2-1 month, earning MOPs for both her wins. The Clarkston, Mich., native averaged a high score of 83.3 with a win margin of 13 points.

She beat two top-six opponents, having spreads over her opponents of 10 and 16 points, respectively, in her victories. Mitchell’s 16-point win over No. 6 Fresno State helped the Bears win the event, 4-1, and eventually the meet, 12-8. She took the win on the road at No. 5 SMU by 10 points to earn her second MOP. Mitchell had the second-highest score in the event against SMU and the highest score in the event against Fresno State.

This is Mitchell's third-career monthly honor in Flat and second Big 12 monthly accolade. She is 3-2 in Flat so far this season.
Baylor finished its fall campaign with a 1-4 record and will return to action on February 1 at the Willis Family Equestrian Center in Waco, facing South Dakota State.
