Story lines
• No. 15 Baylor faces off with the No. 25 UConn Huskies in the Big 12-Big East Battle, pitting two of the last three national champions against each other in a 5:30 p.m. CT tip-off on FS1
• Scott Drew is seeking his 450th career win at Baylor, facing Dan Hurley in a matchup of the two youngest active coaches to win a national championship
• Drew is one of six active coaches who have won a national title, beating two of the other five already this season (Calipari & Pitino). Wednesday's meeting is one of two more scheduled meetings with an active champion (Hurley and Self).
• Hailing from basketball families, the Drews are the second winningest father-son combination in NCAA history, compiling 1,371 wins between Scott, Bryce and Homer, trailing only the Iba family (1,624) for the most by a family in NCAA history.
• The Drew brothers (Scott and Bryce) have a combined 731 coaching wins, while the Hurley's (dan and Bobby) have 501
• The Bears are 15-3 against the Big East in the Drew Era
• Baylor is a Big 12 best 14-4 in conference challenges, including 3-1 in Big 12-Big East Battle

• The Bears are led by Miami transfer, Norchad Omier, The NCAA's active leader in career rebounds (1,388), double-doubles (73) and rebound average (10.9), while sitting 11th in career points (1,934)
• Omier is the first player since Terry Black to have five double-doubles in his first seven games at Baylor
• The senior is 66 points and 112 rebounds from becoming the 14th player in NCAA history with 2,000 points and 1,500 rebounds
• Omier and Duke transfer Jeremy Roach, each bring Final Four experience to a Baylor roster that is replacing nine lettermen and four of its five starters from a season ago.
• Roach ranks second on the team in points per game (13.3), while leading the Bears in assists per game (4.7)
• Against St. John's, Roach hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer, which was the first by a Baylor Bear since Lester Medford beat Texas Tech at the gun in 2016
• VJ Edgecombe is Baylor's 4th-straight Preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year. BU and KU are the only teams in league history to have the preseason conference freshman of the year in 4-straight seasons
