WACO, Texas – Baylor football’s 2013 and 2014 Big 12 championship teams will be recognized as the Honor Teams at the 2024 Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame Banquet on Nov. 1 in the Hurd Welcome Center Grand Ballroom on the Baylor University campus.

In the best two-year stretch in program history, Baylor football put together back-to-back 11-2 seasons and won consecutive conference championships for the first time ever.

The 2013 team went 11-2 overall and 8-1 in the league, winning its first nine games, earning a No. 13 national ranking and a berth in the Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, Ariz. In 2014, highlighted by the thrilling 61-58 comeback win over TCU, the Bears climbed as high as No. 4 in the polls and made it back to the Cotton Bowl for the first time in 40 years.

Both teams sported explosive offensive attacks led by quarterback Bryce Petty, with the 2014 squad leading the nation in points per game (52.4) and yards per game (618.8).

In addition to the Hall of Fame banquet on Nov. 1, the 2013 and ’14 conference championship teams will be recognized at the Baylor-TCU football game the following day at McLane Stadium.

Comprising the 2024 Baylor Athletics Hall of Fame class are Ronnie Allen (track & field), Whitney Canion Reichenstein (softball), Mark Cochran (football), Michael Griffin (baseball), Brittney Griner (women’s basketball), Nina Secerbegovic (women’s tennis), Odyssey Sims (women’s basketball) and Ekpe Udoh.

The Honor Team designation holds significant importance in celebrating the achievements of specific teams rather than individual athletes. This honor is typically awarded to teams that have made exceptional contributions to Baylor athletics, often marking a memorable season, championship, or outstanding collective performance.

Ticket information for the Hall of Fame banquet is available here<https://www1.baylor.edu/ers/register.aspx?event_id=1534721>.
