IRVING, Texas – Baylor women’s golf had five players named to the 2023 Academic All-Big 12 Team, announced Monday by the conference office.



Rosie Belsham, Hannah Karg, BaiMai Seema, Britta Snyder and Anika Veintemilla all garnered first-team honors, with Belsham, Karg and Snyder making a repeat-appearances on the First Team.



Karg, a senior management major, collected her third-straight Academic All-Big 12 distinction, boasting a team-leading three first-team selections.



Belsham (Health Kinesiology & Leisure Studies) and Snyder (Health Kinesiology & Leisure Studies) made the first team for a second-straight season and a third time overall after all-rookie team honors in 2021.



Economics and international business major Anika Veintemilla made her third Academic All-Big 12 appearance and her first since 2021. The senior now boasts first-team selections in 2021 and 2023, with a rookie-team selection in 2020.



BaiMai Seema (Health Kinesiology & Leisure Studies) was a first-team honoree after making the rookie team a season ago.


Players are eligible for Academic All-Big 12 First and Second Teams after they've completed a full year in residence.

BU has now had 105 Academic All-Big 12 Team honorees in the league's 25-year history, 69 of which were First-Team selections. Baylor has had 14 Academic All-Big 12 Second-Team honorees, three honorable mention selections and 17 Academic All-Big 12 Rookie Team members.

Baylor has placed at least three golfers on Academic All-Big 12 Teams in 10-consecutive seasons, and the Bears have earned 65 total honors during the 12-year tenure of head coach Jay Goble after combining for 37 honors in the league's first 15 years.

To qualify for Academic All-Big 12 Teams, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence.
