No. 11 Baylor VB Prepares for Kansas

WACO, Texas – The No. 11-ranked Baylor volleyball team is ready to face Kansas on Saturday in the Ferrell Center, with first serve set for 2 p.m.

The Bears (20-4, 9-2 Big 12 Conference) have successfully hit their seventh-straight 20-win season after the victory against Texas Tech on Wednesday. All seven years with 20 or more wins have been under Ryan McGuyre.

With the win on Wednesday, BU has won the season series with Oklahoma, West Virginia and Texas Tech. Kansas will be the fourth league school Baylor faces for the second time so far in the conference slate.

The first meeting in Lawrence was a 3-2 bout, with Lauren Harrison recording 22 kills, Averi Carlson dishing out 52 assists, and Lauren Briseño digging 16 balls. Kara McGhee also registered eight blocks against the Jayhawks.

Kansas (16-7, 6-5 Big 12) is coming to Waco off a three-set sweep of Kansas State. Head coach Ray Bechard is tied for the second-most wins all-time by a coach in Big 12 Conference matches after the sweep of KSU. KU junior Kennedy Farris just had her 1,000th career dig in that match. The Jayhawks are 6-2 on the road this season. Before the win with KSU, Kansas lost two matches in a row against TCU and Oklahoma, respectively.

The match will be streamed on Big 12 Now on ESPN+ with Lincoln Rose and former Baylor All-American Katie Staiger Smith on the call.
