Story lines

• Baylor Softball is set to close out their regular season this weekend as they take on No. 17 Texas at home Friday before traveling to Austin to finish out the series Saturday and Sunday.

• The Bears and Longhorns are meeting for the 58th time, as Texas holds the all-time series record 36-21 over Baylor.

• Since these two teams started playing each other, they have always split the series locations with one team being home in at least one of the three games.

• Baylor (27-21) have now won 10 of their last 14 games. The Bears fell last weekend in a conference series against Iowa State 2-1, after picking up their 11th shutout of the season in the Friday night matchup.

• The Longhorns (35-15-1) are coming off of a weekend conference series against Texas Tech where they swept the Red Raiders in Lubbock.

• Last week, senior Rhein Trochim went 2-for-2 on senior day her first multi-hit game this season and 8th of her career.

•The Bears are currently sitting at 64 in the NCAA RPI rankings. All seven Big 12 schools currently rank in the top 100 RPI rankings.

• McKenzie Wilson still ranks first in the Big 12 with five triples on the season, she has not been passed all season long. Her .412 season batting average still leads the Bears as well as her 26 RBI. Also in the Big 12, Wilson is fifth in batting average (.412), third in hits (56) and first for stolen bases (25).

• Baylor as a team is third in the conference in team pitching and fifth in team batting. BU is also leading the league in sacrifice bunts (22).

• McKenzie Wilson is 1st in percentage reached as a leadoff batter with .630, while Emry McDonough is batting 1.000 with the bases loaded.

• Josie Bower is leading the league in hit by pitches (10), while Taylor Strain leads in sacrifice bunts (8).

• As a pinch hitter, Katie Ellington is batting 1.000.
• Dariana Orme and Aliyah Binford are sitting at No. 2 and No. 3 for striking out batters looking, with 44 and 50.
