PHOENIX, Ariz. – Baylor women’s golf will return to competition on Friday morning when the Bears open play at the PING Arizona State Invitational.

This weekend marks the penultimate event of the Bears' regular-season schedule, where they will be one of six top-25 teams in the field at Papago Golf Club.

With the NCAA Championships less than two-months away at nearby Grayhawk Golf Club, head coach Jay Goble is looking forward to taking his team to the Phoenix area for a second time this spring.

“It’s always fun to get back out to the desert and continue our prep for the national championship at the end of May at Grayhawk,” he said. “We will see some fantastic teams this week that we have not seen yet this year and will gain valuable experience playing in hot conditions on grass different from what we have in Waco.”

Goble will be rolling out a ninth-different lineup combination this weekend in Arizona.

Britta Snyder will play at the No. 1 spot for the second tournament in a row after leading the Bears with a t-18 finish at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. She has been Baylor’s top finisher in the last two events.

Gurleen Kaur will play out of the No. 2 spot, leading the team with 13 rounds at par or better this season.

Rosie Belsham will play at the No. 3 spot, aiming for continued success in the desert after she went unbeaten in her six matches at the Desert Match Play in January.

Addie Baggarly will make her second-consecutive start for the Bears after a tie for 67th in her debut at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. Baggarly finished strong in Southern California with her Baylor career-best round of 72.

Freshman BaiMai Seema will return to the lineup in the No. 5 spot. Her last round was a career-best 70 on the final day of the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate.

Seema will be first off the No. 1 tee for Baylor at 10:00 a.m. CT on Friday. Baggarly will tee off at 10:11 a.m., followed by Belsham at 10:22 a.m. Kaur and Snyder will round things out at 10:33 a.m. and 10:44 a.m., respectively. BU will play alongside Arizona, New Mexico and Washington.
