WACO, Texas – Baylor men’s golfer Johnny Keefer was named to the Golfweek All-America Third Team Monday, as announced by the publication.
This is the junior’s second Golfweek All-America selection after being named to the Third Team as a freshman in 2020. After being named to the PING All-America third team earlier this month, Keefer has four career All-America selections, tying Cooper Dossey and Matthew Perrine for the most in program history.
Named to the All-Big 12 team on June 10th, the junior became the 12th different player in program history, and the first since 2018, to garner All-Big 12 Honors.

The San Antonio native played out of the No. 1 spot for every tournament, with a stroke average of 71.34 across 29 stroke-play rounds. Keefer’s single-season average led the team and ranked seventh-best in program history. He also led the team in top-5’s (2), top-10’s (5), top-25’s (9) and rounds at par or better (18), while accounting for 33% of the team’s par-or-better rounds.

Additionally, he led the team in par-3 scoring (3.05), par-4 scoring (4.09), and par-5 scoring (4.63). He became the first BU player to compete in an NCAA postseason event as an individual since 2009 when he finished tied for 11th at the Norman Regional at Jimmie Austin Golf Club. In the process, Keefer became the fifth player to shoot two sub-70 rounds in the same NCAA postseason.

The All-American tied a school record with a final-round 63 at the Cabo Collegiate en route to his best finish of the season (T3). Keefer finished the season ranked 13th in Golfstat, 23rd in Golfweek and 78th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and earned a spot on the United States Palmer Cup Team, the fourth Palmer Cup participant in program history.

In his career, Keefer has played 70 rounds across 24 stroke-play tournaments, ranking second in career stroke average (71.74), .21 strokes behind Jimmy Walker's program record. He is one of 15 players in program history to have nine-or-more top-10s and boasts an 11-4-2 career record in match play.
Keefer will represent team USA at the Palmer Cup in Geneva, Switzerland July 1-3, where he will join Baylor women’s golfer Gurleen Kaur who will also represent the Red, White and Blue at Golf Club de Genève.
