Norman, Oklahoma – Baylor women’s golf notched a second top-five finish in as many events after an 8-over par 848 on Monday at the Schooner Fall Classic.

Baylor’s finished behind only Oklahoma State, who won the event with a 16-under 824, and Texas A&M with a 4-over par 844.

Gurleen Kaur earned her eighth-career top-five finish after shooting three rounds at par or better including an even-par 70 in the final round. Kaur was one of just four players in red figures after 54 holes, and head coach Jay Goble really liked the way she attacked this week.
“She put herself in position to shoot really good scores,” he said. “With a 20-mph wind over the last few days, she handled the conditions well and played smart to put herself in contention throughout the weekend.”

Sophomore Rosie Belsham battled through illness throughout the event but felt better on Monday. She fired the second-lowest round of the day, a 3-under par 67, to lead the Bears in the third round and move into a tie for 24th in recording her eighth-career top-25 finish.

Freshman Antonia Matte finished in a tie for 11th in her second collegiate event, buoyed by two rounds at par or better to open the tournament.

Britta Snyder bounced back from a rough first day to post a 1-under 69 on Monday. Snyder played a steady round, highlighted by a couple of early birdies on her front nine.

Hannah Karg played a solid round on Monday as well with an even-par 36 on the front nine before finishing her day at 1-over par to put her in a tie for 33rd for the tournament.
