Charleston, SC – The Baylor women's golf team will open their much-anticipated season Monday morning at the Cougar Classic at Yemans Hall Club in Charleston, South Carolina.

The Bears are one of seven teams in the field that finished last season ranked in the top twenty-five.

Jay Goble<https://baylorbears.com/sports/womens-golf/roster/coaches/jay-goble/1708> enters his 11th season at the helm of the women's golf program and he is excited to get this season started in the Lowcountry.

"I'm excited about the team getting started in Charleston," he said. "This is one of my favorite tournaments of the year and I know that the team really likes it as well. The golf course is amazing."

Britta Snyder<https://baylorbears.com/sports/womens-golf/roster/britta-snyder/10701> will lead things off for the Bears in 2021-2022 from the number-one spot coming off a season where she played in all twelve events with a team-leading 21 rounds at par or better.

5th year senior Guleen Kaur<https://baylorbears.com/sports/womens-golf/roster/gurleen-kaur/10700> is coming off a year where she led the team in stroke average (71.97). Kaur also competed at the Augusta Women's in April and made the cut at the United States Women's Open at Olympic Club.

Freshman Antonia Matte<https://baylorbears.com/sports/womens-golf/roster/antonia-matte/10703> will make her collegiate debut in the number-three spot. Goble likes what he has seen from the freshman and expects Matte to be a key contributor throughout the season.

"She plays a really consistent game that you can already tell is going to travel well," he said. "She's going to be able to play good golf at a lot of different golf courses."

Baylor will round out the line-up with plenty of experience with junior Hannah Karg,<https://baylorbears.com/sports/womens-golf/roster/hannah-karg/10699> in the fourth spot and sophomore Rosie Belsham<https://baylorbears.com/sports/womens-golf/roster/rosie-belsham/10698> in the fifth spot.

Baylor tees off at 8:30 am on Monday and will play 36-holes. The tournament will finish on Tuesday with 18-holes beginning at 8:45 am.
