KAPOLEI, Hawaii – Baylor’s Britta Snyder led the bear brigade at the top of the leaderboard on Tuesday, at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational, one of five bears in the top-10.

Baylor gave themselves more breathing room in the second round with a team score of 10-under 278, giving them the best team score for the second-straight day.

Snyder shot a 4-under 68 and holds a three-shot lead, for the individual title, entering Wednesday’s final round. She played steady on the front-nine, shooting an even-par 36, but gave up her overnight lead. A birdie at the par-4 11th, would kick-start a stretch of three birdies in four holes to regain the lead for good. A win on Wednesday, would be the first individual title of Snyder’s career.

Senior Gurleen Kaur is just three shots back of her teammate, in a tie for second place. She was shot out of a cannon to start, Tuesday, recording five birdies in her first nine holes to soar to the top of the leaderboard at six-under-par. After a pair of double-bogeys, on the back-nine Kaur bounced back nicely with an eagle and a par on No. 17 and No. 18 to shoot a three-under 69.

Freshman Antonia Matte got off to a good start as well with a one-under 35 on the front nine. After a bogey to start her back-nine, Matte birdied four of her final seven holes to match Kaur for the second-best round of the day, a three-under 69, putting her in fourth place alone.

Sophomore Rosie Belsham recorded Baylor’s fourth and final counting score. She was two-over through 16 holes, but closed strong with birdies at No. 17 and No. 18 to record an even-par 72, and pull into a tie for 5th place.

Hannah Karg, who is playing as an individual this week, got off to a steady start with 10-straight pars to open the round. Two birdies in a four-hole stretch got her into red figures before signing for an even-par 72 to pull into a tie for 9th place, entering Wednesday.

Freshman BaiMai Seema got off to a blistering start as well on Tuesday. She birdied five of her first seven holes en route to a three-under 33 on the front-nine. She closed with a back-nine 40 to notch the best score of her young career, a one-over 73.

The Bears hold a 19-shot lead entering the final round which will begin at 2:40 p.m. (CST) on Wednesday.
