Five of Baylor’s six players finished inside the top-10 led by Britta Snyder, who leads by one over Cal State Fullerton’s Elina Saksa, after a three-under 69.

Snyder started her day with a birdie at the first, one of four front-nine birdies for her. She stayed hot on the back-nine with a birdie at No. 11, which started a run of three birdies in a four-hole stretch.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
Head Coach Jay Goble -- “It was a solid start on a windy and challenging day,” Goble said. “I think the golf course played a little tricky today with the normal Oahu trade winds blowing about 15-20 mph all day. Over the next two days, we will have a lighter wind and I believe we now have a solid grasp on how to score on this course. I believe they will be ready for a solid round tomorrow”
