NORMAN, Okla. – No. 7 Baylor volleyball swept the series and the match with Oklahoma, 3-0, on Wednesday night in McCasland Field House to finish off the regular season.

The Bears (20-5, 14-2) successfully and handily took the match with OU (10-17, 4-12) at 25-12, 25-19, and 25-23.

With the win, BU has had six-straight seasons with 20 or more wins. All have come under head coach Ryan McGuyre.

Bri Coleman had a career night, serving up five aces for the Bears. Preslie Anderson gave Baylor the push they needed in the third to overcome the Sooners’ comeback attempt, while Yossiana Pressley and Avery Skinner were the consistent power, both with 11 kills. Hannah Sedwick became the No. 4 all-time for Baylor in assists on Tuesday and continued dishing out sets on Wednesday with 30 more.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET ONE
The Bears took the first frame handily, having OU finish the set with a .000 hitting percentage and with six BU aces. Five of those aces came from Bri Coleman, a career-high for the senior. Shanel Bramschreiber also served up an ace for the Bears. Coleman started the set off with back-to-back aces after Avery Skinner delivered the first point. The Bears’ run of five was stopped short of becoming six. OU kept picking at BU’s lead, but couldn’t overcome Baylor. Shanel Bramschreiber served up an ace to make it 10-5, and Oklahoma called timeout at 13-5. Pressley made it 16-6, then Marieke van der Mark made it 18-9, then Sedwick at 19-9 made Oklahoma call timeout. A kill from Skinner made it 20-9 and continued the run from the Bears. Bri Coleman served up three more aces and put the Bears at 23-9. Oklahoma only had three more points before Pressley ended the set at 25-12.

SET TWO
Bears started out on top once again, with a Skinner kill, block assist with Andressa Parise, and then a Hannah Sedwick dump to make it 3-0. Sedwick served up an ace at 4-1, then Skinner had her own ace at 7-4. A kill by Lauren Harrison made it 9-6, then the two teams tied for the first time in the set on a Baylor attack error at 11-11. Pressley brought the Bears to a 6-1 run at the 17-13 point, with four of the points being her kills. A block from Pressley and Marieke van der Mark put BU ahead by four at 19-15, with OU calling timeout. Baylor hit the 20-point mark in the frame with an Avery Skinner kill, OU down by five. Oklahoma called another timeout as Baylor led at 22-17. A Pressley service ace started the beginning of the end of the set, with Harrison producing the set point, with Sedwick finishing it off at 25-19. The set ended on an 8-4 run by the Bears.

SET THREE
The third started out all knotted up at 3-3, then Skinner and Pressley helped put the Bears back on top. Elise McGhee entered the match and delivered a kill at 7-5. Pressley delivered an ace to put BU back up by three at 9-6, also delivering the 10th ace of the night for Baylor. A three-point scoring run was paused by a media timeout at 15-10. Preslie Anderson had two block assists and two kills in an eight point span at 16-13. The Sooners tried to push the bill and caught up at 16-16. Pressley put them ahead by one, then McGhee hit the 20th point for Baylor. OU tried to tip a ball but the Bears weren’t going to let the score dip and scored at 21-20 to stay ahead. Skinner had the kill to put BU up by two and have Oklahoma call timeout. Anderson tipped the ball to make it 23-21, then had her fifth kill just after at 24-22. She finished off the set at 25-23 to have the Bears win.

QUOTABLE – Head coach Ryan McGuyre
Bri Coleman set the tone for us, having a good serving night for us out of the gate, and continued to be good. Another night where we were a lot better on defense throughout the match. We’ve got to get back and continue to be sharp on offense. A great performance by Preslie Anderson, that final set she was a clutch, go-to middle for us. She was not only terminal on her kils, but had some good touches and great passes as well.”
