IRVING, Texas – Baylor redshirt senior Gurleen Kaur has been named the Big 12 Women’s Golfer of the Month, as announced Wednesday by the conference office. This is the second time Kaur has won the award, taking home golfer of the month honors in September of 2020.

For the month of October, Kaur finished under-par in each of her last four rounds, including three-straight en route to a victory at the Rainbow Wahine Invitational in Hawaii. The win was the fourth win of her career and helped BU to a dominant 30-shot victory.
The Houston native was the only player in the field with three rounds under par for the week, highlighted by a final-round 68. Kaur closed strong with three birdies in her final four holes for a one-stroke win over her teammate, Britta Snyder.
She led the tournament in par-5 scoring (-8, 4.33), tied for third in par-3 scoring (-1, 2.92) and   tied for seventh in par-4 scoring (+1, 4.03). In the wake of her win, Kaur moved up four spots to 83rd in the Women’s Amateur Golf Rankings.
The redshirt senior started the month strong with a top-five finish at the inaugural Jackson T. Stephens Cup. Kaur finished in a tie for 5th in a field that featured five other top-25 teams at the difficult Alotian Golf Club. Her final-round 71 was the third-best score of the round, and one of just seven scores in red scores in red figures in the final round. She also recorded a half-point in her match-play session against Virginia's Riley Smith.
With a 70.83 stroke average in 2021-22, Kaur is on pace to break her own single-season school record set last year. Her career stroke average of 72.50, is second best in program history, and she ranks fourth in program history for career top-five finishes (10) and career top ten finishes (17).
