WACO, Texas – Baylor landed three players on the 2021 All-Big 12 Women’s Tennis Teams with Mel Krywoj, Angelina Shakhraichuk and Alicia Herrero Linana all taking home honors.

Mel Krywoj became the first Bear since Blair Shankle in 2015 to earn a spot on both the All-Big 12 First-Team Singles and First-Team Doubles squad. Krywoj went 4-2 in Big 12 play on the No. 1 court this season and was 19-11 overall in her second junior season.

Krywoj teamed up with Shakhraichuk for the first-team nod in doubles after the pair went undefeated in conference play at 6-0. Overall the duo went 10-2 on the season in doubles, all on the No. 1 court and were ranked the No. 31 best doubles pair by the ITA. Krywoj closed the season ranked No. 67 in singles.

Herrero Linana was a second-team selection in singles after a 20-14 overall season and a 4-4 mark in conference play. The second-year junior was 7-2 on the No. 2 court this season in the spring.

Baylor finished the season at 24-5 Saturday, and it marked the highest win total for the Bears since 2015. The Bears exited the NCAA Tournaemnt in the second-round after a heartbreaking loss to Duke. Baylor was second in the Big 12 this season with an 8-1 league mark.
