WACO, Texas – 2021 Baylor women's basketball signee and Bentonville High School (Ark.) standout Maryam Dauda earned a selection to the 2021 McDonald's All-American team, announced Tuesday.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the McDonald’s All-American Games have been canceled, but McDonald’s still named 24 boys and 24 girls to its annual All-American teams.

Since 1977, the all-star game put on by McDonald's have had some of the greatest NBA, WNBA and college stars featured, including Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Maya Moore and Candace Parker.

The McDonald's All-American Games benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities through its network of local chapters. At RMHC, programs like the Ronald McDonald House, Ronald McDonald Family Room and Ronald McDonald Care Mobile provide comfort and compassion to families with ill or injured children so they are fully supported and able to be a part of their children's care.

The boys and girls teams were announced on ESPN's "The Jump" Tuesday. Dauda joins current Baylor players DiDi Richards<https://baylorbears.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=9535>, NaLyssa Smith<https://baylorbears.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=9537>, Queen Egbo<https://baylorbears.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=9532>, Hannah Gusters and Jordyn Oliver<https://baylorbears.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=9539> as fellow McDonald's All-Americans.

Dauda, a 6-4 post from Bentonville, Ark., ranked No. 13 overall and No. 1 among posts in the 2021 signing class by ESPN. She averaged 16.6 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.6 blocks per contest in 28 games as a junior in 2019-20. She was a AAA All-State selection, and like most, Dauda and her teammates' playoff run was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic before the state tournament could conclude.
