LEXINGTON, Ky. – Baylor volleyball picked up four 2020 Division I Southwest All-Region awards on Tuesday, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Shanel Bramschreiber, Lauren Harrison and Yossiana Pressley each were named to the first team, while Kara McGhee earned honorable mention honors. Pressley is now a four-time honoree, while the remaining trio were all recognized for the first time in their careers.

Bramschreiber, the Big 12 Libero of the Year, led the league with 357 digs and placed sixth in the conference with 3.72 digs per set. She recorded double-digit digs in 21 of BU’s 25 matches this season en route to her first Southwest All-Region honor.

In her first season with the Bears, Harrison notched 282 total kills (3.20 per set), while eclipsing double figures in kills 17 times. She ranked eighth in the Big 12 with 308 total points, garnering her first-career Southwest All-Region honor.

Now a four-time first-team selection to the Southwest All-Region team, Pressley led the Big 12 with 447 kills, 4.66 kills per set and 448 total points and hit at a .247 clip on the year. She earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors three times this season, breaking the conference record with her 19th-career weekly award. Pressley also picked up her first Defensive Player of the Week accolade and has been named a finalist for the Senior CLASS Award.

On the honorable mention, McGhee was picked following a 118-block season, second-most in the conference. She also ranked third in the league with 1.26 blocks per set and led the Bears with a .299 attack percentage. This is her first-career Southwest All-Region award.

Up next, the three first-team members will be considered for a spot on one of the AVCA All-American teams, as voted on by the AVCA membership and announced next week.

No. 12-seeded Baylor will begin its run at the 2020-21 NCAA Championship on Thursday, April 15, against the winner of UMBC and Pepperdine in the NCAA Second Round at 11 a.m. CT in Omaha, Neb.
