LEXINGTON, Ky. – Baylor volleyball was tabbed No. 2 in the initial American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Fall Poll, released Wednesday afternoon by the organization.

After a 1-1 start to the 2020 season, the Bears received one first-place vote and sit second nationally, behind only the Texas Longhorns. BU finished the 2019 season as the No. 3 team in the country, after spending six weeks throughout the season ranked at No. 1.

Four Big 12 teams are ranked, including No. 1 Texas, No. 2 Baylor, No. 9 Kansas and No. 13 Iowa State. Kansas State and Oklahoma also received votes.

Teams in the ACC, Big 12, SEC and Sun Belt are eligible for the AVCA Fall Coaches Poll.

Up next, Baylor will host TCU for two matches this weekend at the Ferrell Center. First serve is set for 5 p.m. on both Friday, Oct. 2, and Saturday, Oct. 3.
