Athletics Staff -

As we navigate through the evolving industry landscape and my ongoing commitment to our department, I have made some immediate structural changes within our executive leadership team. The main objectives behind these changes are to enhance efficiencies and align skills and talents where they can be best utilized.

To facilitate this, I have restructured my executive team (ET) in an effort to more closely collaborate with my office on prioritizing and directing key departmental initiatives, including House settlement changes. Jovan Overshown, Deputy AD and CRO, Cody Hall, Executive Sr. Assoc. AD CFO, Kenny Boyd, Executive Sr. Assoc. AD Student-Athlete Services, Callie Schrank, Executive Sr. Assoc. AD Sports Program Administration, and Jill Van Zee, Executive Sr. Assoc. AD, Chief of Staff will serve as key leaders within a new cabinet structure.

In addition to these five individuals, I will continue to engage an expanded group of senior leaders in the planning and execution of vision and direction for our department to include Juliana Smith, Executive Sr. Assoc. AD Mission Impact and Enrichment, Kevin Goll, Sr. Assoc. AD Strategy, Cori Bolts, Sr. Assoc. AD SACE, and SWA.

In acknowledging the unprecedented demands on my time, including my commitment to the CFP selection committee, Football Oversight Committee, and time spent navigating the future of college athletics, I have entrusted Jovan with a more direct departmental oversight role, empowering her to make essential decisions in my absence and allowing her to more fully step into the role of the number two for our department. Jovan will take a very active role leading the broader leadership efforts and will work closely with me serving within the leadership teams.

In light of Chad's departure, Callie will take on the oversight and leadership of the Governance & Regulatory Affairs (GARA) team. Please include Callie in any discussions, issues, or processes wherein you would previously involve Chad. She will work closely with the GARA staff to ensure timely and seamless support for our sport programs and campus partners.

I have also asked Juliana to oversee Human Resources, specifically in the category of employee relations and staff development. This will involve professional development, enhanced onboarding and off boarding, managing employee performance plans, grievances, ethics point reviews, equal opportunity, and other related matters. This shift will permit Cody to focus on Human Resources in the areas of personnel planning and workforce strategy, budgeting, employment contracts, tax reporting obligations, as well as the impending changes impacting business operations with the roll out of revenue share changes. Together, Juliana and Cody will build comprehensive internal HR support for Athletics.

Please don't hesitate to contact myself with any questions or needed clarification as these teams work to support this department, your sport programs, and campus relationships.

Warm regards,

Mack
