Staff,
We are thrilled to officially open the doors of the Fudge Football Development Center this weekend and the upcoming move of football to a brand new Baylor Athletics facility. While this move presents exciting opportunities as we expand our athletic footprint, we understand questions may arise regarding the planned use of the vacated spaces in Simpson. Over the past several months, we have strategically reviewed the Simpson floor plan, focusing on utilizing the additional space to enhance student-athlete services and foster collaboration among business units. Bringing departmental units that are currently housed in different locations back under one roof is a promising prospect, adding synergy and fostering a collaborative environment.
As we finalize our plans, we wanted to share some key points with you:
* We aim for transitions to occur in October unless specific needs are identified for certain staff. This timeline is subject to change and we will communicate more as decisions are finalized.
* Transitional efforts will include vacating offices, assessing need for new space prep, and timing of IT and facility support.
* We are prioritizing the need for additional meeting space for both academic support and administrative units.
* Transitional efforts will take multiple phases with the second floor being the initial focus. H&W areas on the first floor remain largely the same with some staff relocating in the next few weeks to better service immediate needs of student-athletes that continue to use Simpson.
* Equipment room will remain central receiving location for departmental shipments/packages.
* Understand, location assignments are subject to change at any time as industry business operations are undergoing significant changes and remain fluid.
* Initial office/room relocations will be limited in scope. However, we will continuously evaluate the possibility of small room conversions, cubicles, divider walls, door relocations, furniture arrangements, etc., to ensure all working environments are conducive to productivity.
* Rising construction costs and residual inflation will impact our ability to accomplish significant space modifications.
Over the next few months as you begin to see areas transition, connect with your direct supervisor with any questions and updated timelines. We are grateful for the opportunity to expand our administrative support offices, and we look forward to the new partnerships and perspectives that will come with gaining new office and hallway teammates.
Remember, happiness is an inside job!
