Athletics External Staff,

Whew! What a busy and exciting spring it’s been so far, with much more still ahead! I want to commend each and every one of you for the work you are doing to advance the mission and vision of Baylor Athletics. I am immensely proud of the excellence you all strive for daily and the care you provide to both the Baylor fan base and all of our sport programs.

Given the ever-shifting landscape of college athletics and ongoing refinement of our leadership structure, and coming out a several months long search, we have finally filled our two open positions in a slightly adjusted model.

This afternoon, we will announce Chris Park as Executive Senior Associate AD for External Affairs and Business Development. This role will have direct oversight over all areas previously outlined under the Revenue Generation role, to include Bear Foundation, Ticketing, and “B” Association while managing the relationships with Athletics Major Gifts and Baylor Sports Properties (Playfly). This role will also oversee Baylor Brand engagement, which includes Branding and Creative Services, Athletics Communications and Marketing/Fan Engagement.

Also to be announced this afternoon is the elevation of Justin Hoff to Senior Associate AD for Brand Engagement. In this role, Justin will oversee the brand engagement areas outlined above and report directly to Chris Park, while remaining a part of my senior leadership team.

Finally, we will also celebrate the addition of Hans Malebranche, who is backfilling Jake Baskin’s role as Assistant AD for Major Gifts/Senior Director of Development and publicly announce the elevation of Chris Lynn in his current role of leading the Bear Foundation.

I have attached the embargoed press release announcing these changes for your awareness. Please note this update is confidential and nothing should be shared or commented on publicly until the release goes out at 3 PM CT.

In the coming weeks, I will look for opportunities to sit down with your respective teams and provide additional insight into these changes, if I haven’t done so already. With the recent departure of Erin Bean, a search will commence soon to backfill that role, and in time, Justin Hoff will also backfill the role he is vacating.

With these changes, we remain a well-resourced and unified external unit and look forward to continue building upon the foundations of success you have helped to establish. We are grateful for each of you!
