<div>Yes. Very well written and played out. Nuanced. There was a bitterness there, in the acting and writing. Beautifully played out by Shelia. The part where she reverted back to childhood memories before she died. That's very real isn't it. And het final
line " father, can I have a peach". A very peaceful end for Jean.

Apparently, the marriage soured between Jean and Edwin for a couple of reasons. Jean's deteriorating health played a part, but also she continued to resent the fact that Edwin permitted son Robert to go off to war.</div>

to re-watching Christmas episodes of a family at war. Comfort viewing even though the Ashton family did not always have a merry time. Particularly Jean. </div>
