John Finch spoke very highly of Granada during its formative years, back when the studio was run by people who were sincerely interested in presenting a quality product that was well-written and not exclusively based on how much money could be earned from advertising
revenue. He lamented the fact that Granada later became governed by pencil-pushing accountants whose decisions rested almost solely on economics instead of worthwhile scripts that were dramatically sound.</div>
